3 Things Thursday #78

I’m a bit under the weather as I write this week’s 3 Things Thursday, that’s why it’s so late in the day. But I’m here and ready to share! 3 Things Thursday Badge 1.  Saving School Photos Last week when I was tidying up, I found an envelope in which I had put all the kids school photos. Once we had gotten the photos, I gave them to family members and then put them away. But I realized that if I kept doing that, by the time they were out of school, we would have 15 years of school photos piled up. So I decided we needed to do something. I took out these beautiful scrap books I bought 8 years ago from my first trip to India. Then the kids and I started to make scrapbooks for their school and class photos. They look really great and have been really fun to do! I’m contemplating whether I should write a blog post about it or not.

So in the afternoon I made him a gluten-free chocolate birthday cake, which despite my doubt’s turned out delicious! We also went out for dinner with his family for a birthday dinner. It was a nice evening. And once the cake was eaten and the kids were in bed, it was back to being sick and hitting the sack at 9pm. But at least he had a nice little celebration before that right? 3tt Zam birthday 3. Sugar Maroon 5 I’m sure that you’ve heard the song Sugar, by Maroon 5. It’s a great song but have you seen the video? It’s so great! The whole band is dressed in tuxes and then they stop by as many weddings as they can in one day and surprise them. Of course the television producer in me was full of questions. How were the able to get the sound so perfect, did they do sound checks ahead of time? And the video production, how did they have perfect video production value for the music video when they were surprising all the wedding guests? And so on and so forth. So I did a little search on the internet and it turns out….there is no concrete answer. The best that I could come up with is that part of it was real wedding crashing and part of it was set up. Overall, it’s still a really great feel good song and video!

  1. You never cease to amaze me … Sick, yet baking up gluten free cakes & putting together a great looking scrapbook!!!

  2. Love the idea for the scrapbooks. Organizing my kids school pictures and school work is on my list for Christmas holiday plans 🙂 BTW: I love your dining table! That’s the kind of rustic wood look that I’m after, but I’m still searching!

    1. Thanks Raj, I’m sure it’ll be a fun project for all of you over the holidays. And it took us a while to get the right table. We had it made by someone in Chilliwack. That way we got exactly what we wanted and at a MUCH better price than what you see in stores!

  3. I love scrapbooks! I actually did a similar project my senior year in high school. I still have that scrapbook ’til this day and its a great memory of all the photographs from birth to all the years of school. Your kids will treasure it forever. Since getting married, I’ve digitalized things a bit and started making scrap books on shutterfly. They have great layouts.

    1. It is so fun to look back at these saved memories Reshma! My hubby did suggested a digitized version but I thought for school pictures, if I wait until I have all of them, the kids will be graduated lol.
