6 Netflix Shows to Watch When it’s Mom Time (So You Don’t Have to Cheat)

Once the kids go to bed, the kitchen is cleaned up and you’ve finished catching up on work, then it’s time for some Netflix shows right?

If your situation is like ours, there are shows the hubby and I like watching together. But come on, we ladies need some shows just to watch on our own, so we don’t have to wait for the hubby to watch or sneak watching ahead  because that would be “cheating on him” and we would never do that!

Netflix Shows to Watch so you don't have to Cheat

To stay true, you just need a list of your own Netflix series’ that you can watch, whether you have half an hour to relax at home or you’re having a sick day.

Here are my favourite Netflix Shows to Watch When it’s Mom Time

1. Downton Abbey
I had so many people tell be about Downton Abbey but it just didn’t peak my interest. Then one day, I thought I would watch the first episode and boom, I was hoooked! Now I just need the final season to come on Netflix so I can have some closure.

2. Gilmore Girls
You may have watched Gilmore Girls growing up but it’s such a different perspective to watch it again, after you’ve become a mother. Plus, with the Netflix mini series of Gilmore Girls, 15 years later, you’ll fall in love with them all over again.

3. Riverdale
This is a new show on Netflix and new episodes become available every Friday. It’s based on the Archie comics you grew up with, but names and locations are about all that’s the same. This is a bit of a darker Riverdale than you’re used to with a hotter Archie, Mr. Andews and Ms. Grundy!

4. Nashville
I LOVE Nashville even though I started it mid-season two. I was so excited when it came on Netflix and I could catch up. It’s one of those dramas that just reels you in!

5. Friends
Ahh, Friends. An oldie but goodie. I grew up with Friends, they helped me get through a move to a new city and I never get tired of watching them. And now that they are on Netflix, I can binge watch whenever I want.

6. Grey’s Anatomy
Lastly I have to add Grey’s Anatomy to the list. If you’ve never seen it, you should, it’s so good! Even though it’s been around for a long time, it’s a classic.

Honorable Mention:
On the day I was writing this post, I started a new series called Life Unexpected. It’s a super cute show about a girl in foster care who goes to look for her real parents because she wants to get emancipated. The court then puts her in the care of her biological parents. I’ve only seen two episodes but I think it’s going to be a good one!

What is your favourite series to watch all on your own?

I am a member of the the Netflix Stream Team and have been given a Netflix membership to help facilitate my posts. As always, all the opinions in this post are 100% my own.

  1. Love binge watching series on Netflix in downtime! I’m always disappointed when I finish all the episodes; but fun to move on to a new “addiction” 🙂 These are some good ones! Great post 😉
