Girl’s Night Out at The Cutting Room

I don’t get out to many girls’ nights, so when my friend Taslim from Let ME Out!! invited me for a fun evening at The Cutting Room, I was super excited.

After I found out that we would be sewing our own tote bags, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Because to be honest, my sewing skills consist of sewing on buttons that have fallen off and even that doesn’t look so great.

I ended up having an amazing time and came home with a tote bag that I actually made on my own and I love!

When we got to The Cutting Room, we ate some pizza and someone brought wine. Then we met Liza, the brains and creativity behind The Cutting Room, a place where you can learn to  learn how to sew, design, make patterns, and even launch your own line of clothing!

We were taught a little about the sewing machines and how to thread them. Then we picked the materials we wanted to make our totes with.

With the help of Liza and the other tailors, our group learned step by step, how to put together and stitch our bags. I didn’t actually think I could make it, but I pulled it off! I did it slowly but I learned a lot and in the end I came home with a fabulous camo denim bag with a little bling.

It was a lot of fun to get together with a group of bloggers and actually create something.

I got so many compliments on my bag and questions about how someone could make their own bag that  I thought I would share about my night.

  1. Those are really cute. I am glad you were able to have a girls night out. I have not had one of those in so long. I couldn’t tell you when I had the last one.
