Summer Adventures #StreamTeam

Earlier this summer, I was invited by Netflix Canada to join their #StreamTeam. Since we already subscribed, I was really happy to join up and share our love for Netflix.

We enjoy Netflix in our house for many reasons, like the fact that there are no commercials and it has tons of TV series and movies that my husband and I have been wanting to watch but never got to, plus it’s inexpensive.

The biggest reason is the kids. There are so many different selections for them and I can let them watch one episode and then they’re done. And Netflix has tons of educational shows.

One of our favourites is the Leap Frog series. Believe it or not, the other day I went into the bathroom to check on my 5-year old in the shower and he says, “Mom look, speedy counting!” He’d put his shower numbers in order: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10. I asked him how he learned that and he said Leap Frog Math Adventures. He was counting in two’s and I didn’t even teach him!!

As part of the #streamteam, each month we get an email with exciting new information from Netflix as well as what the focus is for that month. In July it was All Things Canadian. This month it’s about Summer Adventures! That is perfect for us because we’ve been having tons of adventures like tackling long suspension bridgeswatersides, beaches, spray parks, berry picking, biking and lots more.

During those mornings or afternoons when a little downtime is needed, Netflix Canada has some great shows to get your little ones rearing to go for their next adventure like Dora The ExplorerThe Hive and Wild Animal Baby Explorers.

I am a member of the the Netflix Stream Team and have been given a Netflix membership to help facilitate my posts. As always, all the opinions in this post are 100% my own.

  1. My kiddos are all on their own now with babies of their own but I am a Netflix addict. I find a show I want to watch and before I know it I’ve watched all 10 seasons! I just finished with “Cedar Cove” and “Longmire.” Mostly I watch all crime and history documentaries. – Stopping by from “COBS.” – Your post brought back wonderful memories. Thank you for sharing.

    1. Yes, when you have a whole series at your fingertips, it’s hard to stop yourself from watching a whole season!! I haven’t seen the two shows you mentioned, thanks for the recommendation.

  2. This is so amazing! GO Leap Frog. And Go mom. Ive been so anti- leap frog. I may have to rethink it. What a proud moment to have. I like that you had the numbers accessible for your kids to practice what they saw. Spectacular.

    1. I know Danielle, I was surprised and so proud!! If you’re re-thinking leap frog, another good one is called the Letter Factory. My son also learned the phonetic sounds of all the letters of his alphabet from that. It was so much more effective than how I was trying to teach him! Thanks for stopping by 🙂
