6 Key Pieces for your Family’s Fall Wardrobe

I am always up to the challenge of finding a good deal when it comes to clothes shopping for myself and for the kids. I always say, you never have to buy anything at full price. Of course that has come to bite me in the derriere on occasion when I’ve waited for a sale and the sizes I wanted were gone.

I love stores that have great price points right off the bat. One of my favorite places for that is Joe Fresh! They always have fun and stylish stuff for the kids with a price tag that won’t make you do a double take. And same with clothes for mama. I mean we can’t just have the kids looking good and forget about ourselves!

We actually headed out to Joe Fresh for some family back-to-school shopping and came home with so many great looks!

When I’m shopping and adding to our wardrobes, especially as the kid’s outgrow their clothes and I want to update mine for the Fall, I think it’s important to make sure that you have a few key pieces for your wardrobes. This way you have the basics and then you can mix and match with everything else in your wardrobe. If you shop that way, it’s so much easier to pick what you need and create a ton of different looks in a simple way.

For my 6-year old daughter, these were the 6 key pieces for her back-to-school shopping wardrobe:

1. Grey Jeggings
2. T-shirt
3. Neutral Cardigan
4. Black Leggings
5. Zip Up Fleece (the one pictured above is slightly different from the one we purchased)
6. Cute multi-purpose kicks

For my 8-year old son, he also had 6 key pieces for his fall back-to-school shopping wardrobe:

1. Dinosaur t-shirt
2. Dark lined vest
3. Hoodie
4. Joggers
5. High-tops
6. Skinny jeans

And finally for myself, there were 7 (…ehm extra shoes) essentials for Fall:

1. Over-sized cardigan
2. Bright colored ballet flats
3. Slip-on sneakers
4. Colorful boyfriend tee
5. Leggings
6. Dark skinny jeans
7. Layering tank top

With these 7 fall essentials, I can mix and match them all together to create different looks and I can pull from my existing wardrobe to make more outfits because these are all basic pieces that work well together with lots of other items.

Those are the key essential pieces that will be perfect for your family’s back-to-school fall wardrobes. And of course mom’s need those extra shoes for all the running around they do right?

What are the basics that you like to buy for back-to-school and fall shopping?

  1. I love all the pieces you picked out for yourself and the kiddos. I love Joe Fresh’s style and price point. I just put in an order for clothes and accessories for the girls and myself! 🙂
