**Update: Since writing this post, I have now become a Certified Personal Trainer, that’s how much a believe PT’s can make a difference in your health and fitness journey.**
If you are wondering whether or not it’s worth it to work with a personal trainer, I will tell you, from my experience, that there are lots of great reasons to work with a personal trainer! In fact, my fitness journey really changed when I tried out personal training for the first time and here’s why.
In the last few years, I’ve really expanded and changed how I workout and exercise. I’ve always had a membership at the gym where I loved doing classes like, step, bootcamp, aerobics and power classes. I used weights as well, but usually between 8lbs to 10lbs, never too much heavier. That all changed when I won 12 personal training sessions. Once I started PT, I was introduced to a whole new world of fitness and lifting. I began to learn that I was much stronger than I realized and that my body could do so much more than I gave it credit for.
I am really passionate about exercising, (you know this already if you watch my InstaStories. I feel like it benefits me in so many ways and overall it makes me a better, mom and person. I get a lot of questions from people about health, fitness and exercise, so to answer some of them, I thought I would good to bring in a personal trainer, a professional to answer some of these questions.

6 Reasons to Work With a Personal Trainer
(Below are Terri-Ann’s points with my thoughts on each point below)
You should work with a personal trainer because:
1. It will help you gain confidence within the gym; how to use the equipment properly, where to find the equipment and gym etiquette
If you feel awkward at the gym and just don’t know where to start, that’s a great reason to work with a personal trainer. They can show you around, and get you comfortable at the gym so you know exactly what to do and where to go every time.
2. You will earn proper weight lifting technique
For me, this was the biggest thing. When I began to work with a personal trainer, I learned the right was to do all the exercises to make sure I was maximizing each exercise and that I was doing it correctly as to not injure myself.
3. Working with a personal trainer will challenge and push you in your workouts
It’s easy to get comfortable in your exercise routine but that doesn’t help you get stronger or help change your body. You are capable of doing so much more than you think and a personal trainer can help challenge and push you to make sure you get the most out of your workout!
4. A Personal Trainer keeps you accountable
Sometimes you might not feel like working out or eating the right foods and it can be easy to fall off the wagon. When you work with a personal trainer, you have someone you are accountable and that really helps you stay on track.
5. A personal trainer will provide you with a proper workout plan geared toward your goals
Having an exercise and eating plan can make the ultimate difference in your fitness journey. A personal trainer can provide you with all of that so there are really no excuses for not staying on track
6. You will get the motivation, education and tools to support you on your fitness journey when you work with a personal trainer.
In life, we all need motivation, support and education to achieve our goals. Fitness goals are no different. When you work with a personal trainer, whenever you feel like quitting your personal trainer will always be there to support and encourage you.
