In late November, my girlfriend Raj and I had the chance to take a quick trip to Victoria British Columbia for a girl’s trip! If you can believe it, never in my life had I ever been on a girl’s only trip before. And after this one, I’ve realized, it’s importance. Not only because it’s fun, but because we mom’s need it!
That being said, there is a ton of great stuff to do and today I’m sharing 6 Things To Do On a Girl’s trip to Victoria.
1. Helijet Ride
The half hour helicopter ride from Vancouver to Victoria was not only quick, it was amazing. The view you get is unparalleled! Even if you do it just once, helijet is worth the experience and a perfect way to start off a girl’s trip.
2. Mineral Pools at Oak Bay Beach Hotel
We made a stop at Oak Bay Beach Hotel and we definitely want to go back for more! The hotel has such a wonderful history and the boutique style makes it a unique experience. If you’re going on a girl’s trip, it’s a really great place to tsay with great rooms and a spa on site. They all have these amazing mineral pool you need to take a dip in.
3. Breakfast at the Legislature
We met the right people on our trip because we learned a little known secret about Victoria, that even many people who live there don’t know! The Parliament building has a restaurant! The details are here. I would say that if you go for breakfast, a must-try is the scones and cheddar biscuits!
4. High Tea at the Empress
I have never experienced high tea before and it was definitely one of the highlights of my trip! The Fairmont had an amazing tea experience for us and it was magnified because of the holidays! The service, the decor, the different types of tea, the tiny treats at the Fairmont made it a high tea I will never forget and a must-do with your girlfriends!
5. Shopping on Fort Street
And how can you have a girl’s getaway without some shopping, even if it’s just window shopping. We had a great time walking on Fort St, visiting all the great shops. I bought a couple of gifts for my kids. I also fell in love with a couple of hats and I may need to go back one day!
6. Dinner & Drinks at The Mint
There are also a lot of great places to eat. One that I would really recommend is The Mint. All the food we tried at dinner was so delicious! We even tried some of the most delicious drinks I’ve ever had; a cardamom mojito and a sojito.
7. Where to Stay
We stayed at the Hotel Grand Pacific on our trip and honestly, it probably has one of the best views of Victoria! From one side you can see the waterfront and the other side you can see the legislature, which is amazing at night when it’s all lit up!
It’s also a great central location and you can walk everywhere if you choose to and we did. (One day we even clocked over 20,000 steps on our fitbits!
