Challenging Myself On My Blog

When I first started blogging, I use to post sporadically, whenever I had an idea to write about. Then I read that it’s important to be regular in your blog posts, so I religiously started writing once a week, on the same day.

Two and a half years later, I write four times a week. Sunday’s are my Meal Plans, then I post on Tuesdays, Thursday’s for 3 Things Thursday and Friday’s. I feel like that is enough, for a few reasons. The main one being, there’s just not enough time to be a full-time mom, working part-time from home, cooking, cleaning etc and then throw into the mix, a blog post every day! Now that would probably send me over the edge!

Challenging myself

However, I am making an exception. Starting on Monday, I am taking on a Blogging Challenge where I will be posting every (week) day for two weeks. I feel like it’s nice to step out of your comfort zone sometimes and challenge yourself. (I am actually going to be challenging myself in another aspect of my life soon, but I’ll save that for another post so I don’t digress.)

In preparation, I’ve been compiling a list of blog post ideas as well as filling in my editorial calendar to ensure you have lots of interesting things to read!

I won’t be doing this Two-Week Blogging Challenge on my own. In fact, along with my SABNย partner, Mrs. Pink Chai, we have a great group of South Asian Bloggers who will be partaking in the challenge as well. If you’re interested in following along, here are their blogs:

Sarah at Flour & Spice
Mezba Ma at A Bengali in TO
Ayesha at Live Glam Edit
Ritu at Happy Blurry Beautiful
A
nanya at Ananya Tales
Radhika a
t Ms Chutzpah
Sarita at It’s My Girls’ World
Tazim at Being Tazim

So I just wanted to let you why you’d be seeing more of me than usual. I’m pretty excited about the challenge and now I’m going to take the next couple of days off and see you back here on Monday with an awesome Meal Plan to start off the week.

Have you challenged yourself lately?

  1. It’s good to challenge yourself every now and again. But, you have such a busy life already, so you don’t need to continue once you’ve completed the run. ๐Ÿ˜‰ All too soon, your little ones will have grown up and left their childhood home to begin a life of their own. Then you’ll have time to spare.

  2. Motherhood is a huge challenge! I do challenge myself, as I move along in the dual challenge of long distance caregiving of an 87 year old mother in law and my brother in law, who is developmentally disabled. Work becomes more of a challenge as I age. So, I don’t need to seek out more challenges right now – life will provide!

  3. Cool! Good luck to you ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ve been so focused on writing for other platforms that I’ve been slacking on my own blog but I’m getting back into and starting with 4 times a week too!

  4. Yes, I have. Every time I start to feel like things are easy to manage I challenge myself to add or learn something new.

Good luck with your challenge. I look forward to following along!

  5. I think this is a great idea… it’s good to challenge yourself and get inspired together with others! I definitely look forward to your posts!
