Chocolate Energy Balls

We are all about bite-sized snacks in our house, something we can quickly pop-into our mouths when we are feeling peckish or perfectly portable snack that we can take with us on the go.

So when we were challenged to by  Nestlé to #StirThingsUp with Carnation Hot Chocolate, guess what we made? Chocolate Energy Balls. They fit the bill for some thing quick, bite-sized and portable. The added benefit with these is they are full or healthy ingredients that can also give you a little energy boost when you need it.

Here’s the recipe:

Chocolate Energy Balls

Here are the ingredients one more time:
– 1 cup of natural peanut butter (or almond butter)
– 1/3 cup + 1 tbsp almond milk (or any type of milk you prefer)
-1/4 cup of honey or agave
– 1 tsp of pure vanilla extract
– 1.5 cups of rolled oats (or quick oats)
– 1/4 cup Carnation Hot Chocolate Powder
– 1/4 cup shredded coconut
– 3 tbsp ground flax seeds
– 3 tbsp chia seeds

Once you use the secret ingredient, Carnation Hot Chocolate, you’ll believe that it can be used for more than just hot chocolate! The great thing is that you get your chocolate fix because it’s made with pure cocoa.

This recipe will make about 30 Chocolate Energy Balls. Make extra and you can freeze them for any future snack emergencies for the whole family.

  1. Oh, I will HAVE to make these! 🙂 Look like a variation on the classic no-bake chocolate-oatmeal cookies. And I agree, sometimes you just need that little something and of course ANYTHING chocolate works for me! 😉
