#ClosetShuffle Week 1

I just completed week one of our #ClosetShuffle Challenge. This is where you put together a  different outfit from your closet everyday for 30 days. It’s a good way to wear clothes from your closet that don’t normally get out, purge what you don’t like and get your wardrobe organized for the new year. If you’re interested in joining in or learning more, here’s my original post Using Your Wardrobe.

Here are the first 7 outfits I wore. Every other day I tried to include pieces that haven’t made it out of my closet in quite a long time.

So far the challenge has been great! I wore a few things that have been collecting dust in my closet and I liked how they looked. I am also going to add a few things to the donation pile like the white shirt on day three and the very cute but uncomfortable loafers on day seven. I’m up in the air about the super heroes shirt I wore on day 4 because I feel like its a little too short but still, it’s super heroes. Also, i’m not sure if I should keep or purge the necklace in Day 7.

I’d love to hear your opinions on what you do and don’t like or if I should donate or keep. Also, if you want to participate, just jump on in and start posting your outfit each day with the hashtag #closetshuffle. The more the merrier.

If you want to follow along or get the details of where I bought each outfit, follow me on Instagram where I post daily. When you search the hashtag, you’ll also find some fabulous bloggers and moms participating in the challenge as well. It’s a great way o put together new outfits and get your closet organized in time for the new year!.

  1. Hi Salma,

Keep that super heroes shirt 🙂 I like this idea because many times we have a lot of clothing in our closet that never see the light of day. Then we go purchase even more items. This challenge will force you to have to take a hard look at what you want to keep and better yet, what you would like to donate. Thank you for sharing.

  2. This sounds like a good thing to do to clean out your closet and get rid of “stuff”. I’ve got clothes I haven’t worn in years! It’s terrible! I’ve got, like 6 basic outfits, and I don’t stray too far from those. I admire your courage. 🙂

  3. I retired five years ago and the first thing I did was to take my work wardrobe pieces, suits, blazers, skirts and pants to the cleaners and then checked that all the zippers, buttons etc were in good repair. I donated them all to a place called WIN (Women In Need) where the money collected from the sale of the clothes goes to a women’s shelter. But I asked if I made a donation would they in turn give my donated work clothes to someone returning to the work place after being out of work for some time. They agreed. Now, I have a “two times tries” rule, if I take something out of my closet, try it on, take it off and try it the second time and don’t end up wearing it, it too goes to charity as obviously I bought in on a whim and don’t really love it. I find my casual every day look has way more polish than my weekend look did when I worked – the reason – I can see everything I own at a glance. PS I also play with my clothes setting out outfits I could wear for a event that might come up that I didn’t expect. Works so well with none of that “what to wear” panic we ladies do. Cheers
