Meal Plan – Jan 26-Feb 1, 2015

It is Sunday, meal planning day. I like to to do this each week because it really makes dinner time and grocery shopping a lot easier. Just because you’ve made  meal plan though, it doesn’t mean you can’t deviate. Sometimes plans come up or you feel like eating something else and that’s okay. In fact, a lot of my meal plan last week went to the way side because I was sick.

Meal Plan Jan 26-Feb1

Now it’s a new week with a new plan:

Monday – Dinner with my Aunt

Tuesday Slow Cooker Beef Stew

Wednesday Dinner Hash with scrambled eggs

Thursday – Nando’s Chicken (one of my favorite takeout places)

Friday – Lemon Garlic Chicken with mixed veggies

Saturday – leftovers

Sunday – Dinner at my MIL’s.

What your your dinner plans for the upcoming week?

  1. ah! I need to take a page out of your book… I just come from work each night, open the fridge and see what I can whip up. I’m so lazy lately that our meals have been fairly boring.

  2. My husband writes a weekly menu closely followed by the shopping list. As you say, this makes everything so much easier. All he has to do every day is glance at his list and he can start preparing the meal for the day. It’s very rare we deviate. Perhaps we’ll sway the order of the meals to suit if something crops up to make the planned meal awkward.

  3. I’m fortunate in that my husband cooks. He’s a “pantser” – he cooks by his mood, what is on sale, and what is in the house. Tonight, as I’m recovering from a stomach virus, it will probably be simple.

  4. I tend not to plan for the week. I used to but then things happened and the plan didn’t always work out. Pulling out meat to defrost during the day and planning around that on the evening has been working for us for the last few years, and the way we prefer to do it.

  5. I’m not known as a meal planner! I should take a leaf out of your book as it would make shopping much simpler. I tend to cook by mood. The only exception tends to be when I’m using dried beans as they need the soaking time. I soak a batch and pop some pre-soaked in the freezer to save time later.
